Venom: The Last Dance is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Venom. This sequel to *Venom* (2018) and *Venom: Let There Be Carnage* (2021) is the fifth installment in Sony's Spider-Man Universe (SSU). The film is written and directed by Kelly Marcel, with Tom Hardy starring as Eddie Brock and Venom. The cast also includes Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach, and Stephen Graham. In this film, Brock and Venom are on the run from both of their worlds.

 Premise

Eddie Brock and the symbiote Venom are hunted by both their worlds and must go on the run to evade capture.

Peggy Lu as Mrs. Chen: A convenience store owner and friend to Eddie and Venom.

Stephen Graham as Patrick Mulligan: A detective who has previously encountered Eddie and is now imbued with a symbiote named Toxin.

Cristo Fernández as a bartender, reprising his role from *Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021).

 Production

 Development and Pre-production

In August 2018, Tom Hardy confirmed he had signed on for three Venom films. By December 2021, Sony Pictures began developing the third installment after the release of *Venom: Let There Be Carnage*. Kelly Marcel and Tom Hardy co-wrote the story, with Marcel making her directorial debut. Marcel also produced the film alongside Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, Hutch Parker, and Tom Hardy, with their respective production companies collaborating with Columbia Pictures and Marvel Entertainment.

 Filming

Principal photography started on June 26, 2023, in Cartagena, Spain, and Calblanque Regional Park under the working title *Orwell*. Fabian Wagner was the cinematographer. Filming was halted in July 2023 due to the SAG-AFTRA strike but resumed in November 2023. The production wrapped up in February 2024.

Post-production

The film was titled *Venom: The Last Dance* in March 2024, with a release date of October 25, 2024. The first teaser trailer released in June confirmed Peggy Lu and Stephen Graham would reprise their roles from previous Venom films. Visual effects are provided by ILM, DNEG, Digital Domain, Rodeo FX, and Territory Studio.

Venom: The Last Dance is scheduled for a theatrical release in the United States on October 25, 2024, in IMAX and other premium large formats. The film’s release date experienced several changes due to the SAG-AFTRA strike before settling on the October date.

 Home Media

Sony signed deals with Netflix and Disney for streaming rights to their 2022-2026 film slate. Netflix secured exclusive "pay 1 window" streaming rights, including for future Venom films. Disney obtained "pay 2 window" rights, allowing streaming on Disney+ and Hulu, and broadcast on Disney’s linear TV networks.
